~ #SixForSunday: Future Travel Destinations in Books ~

#SixforSunday is… it’s really just that. You choose 6 books (normally) that you’d choose to fit whatever the prompt is that week. This meme is hosted by A Little but a Lot and you can follow the link to find the prompts for January to March. I’ll also post this month’s prompt’s at the end of the post.

This week’s prompt: Books set elsewhere in the world

1. Float Plan – Review

This novel travels to multiple islands in the Caribbean all the way down to the Grenada/Trinidad area. Ideally, I would love to travel to all the islands included in this novel, but I would settle for at least one as there are so many islands, both big and small, that would be gorgeous and a very fun adventure!

2. Detour to Love – Review

Although this novel takes place at multiple places around the world, the destination that I want to go to is Japan. The characters travel to Tokyo, which I have visited a few times before and would love to again in the future. Additionally, I want to add tons of the other smaller towns in Japan and explore the rest of the country.

3. The Boy Toy – Review

I have never been to Australia before, but it has been a place I have always been curious to visit. One main reason is to see a quokka in real life (look up these beyond cute animals, if you do not know as the pictures online are adorable)! Aside from looking at animals, there is a lot in Australia to see and do, so I am not particular to a specific city and would be happy to travel to any of them.

4. A Reason to Be – Review

I was very close to choosing Outlander for this destination, but I changed to this one at the last minute as I figured this book needs some love and deserves to be highlighted on a list. I did a road trip once around Scotland, but I barely scratched the surface of all the places that I want to visit.

5. A Trail of Pearls – Review

Similar to Scotland, I was lucky enough to do a train trip around to some places in Italy, but I did not even see a huge portion. There is a lot that I still want to see as there are too many small towns that I could not even begin to list that would be amazing to explore.

6. Shipped – Review

This destination was the easiest to select as I have wanted to visit the Galapagos since I can remember. Timing, funds, etc. always seemed to get in the way, so I have not had the pleasure of visiting this magical place yet. The number one thing I would love to see there are marine iguanas as they are extremely fascinating and this is the only place in the world that you can find them in the wild.

Last week I went for fictional towns for Books set in the country you live, which is the United States. For this week’s topic, Books set elsewhere in the world, I originally was going to create a list featuring lands/cities/towns in fantasy novels as some are technically set in this world, but they definitely are not the county I live. Instead, I changed my thought process and decided to go for books that feature a county that I want to visit.

Although I have been to some of these places before, I am no where close to exploring every single piece that I want to see. This list does not cover every destination that I want to visit, but these are definitely ones that I want to at least attempt to visit within the next five years, if I am lucky. One can at least have hope that this is possible!
