~ Goodreads Monday: The Immortal Game ~

This is a weekly meme where any one can choose a random book from their Goodreads TBR and highlight it. Once you choose a book and create your post, make sure you link and reference the creator, @Lauren’s Page Turners. Eventually, I will try to find a rhyme or reason to my choices, but for now, each week will feature a random one that I mean to read soon!

This Week’s Selection:

The Immortal Game by Talia Rothschild & A.C. Harvey

Expected publication: May 25th 2021

Galene, daughter of Poseidon, desperately wants to earn her place among the gods. But when a violent attack leaves Mount Olympus in chaos and ruins, she is accused of the crime. Banished from Olympus, Galene sets out to prove her innocence and discovers a more deadly plot—one that threatens even the oldest of Immortals.

Fortunately, she has allies who willingly join her in exile:

A lifelong friend who commands the wind.
A defiant warrior with deadly skill.
A fire-wielder with a hero’s heart.
A mastermind who plays life like a game.

All-out war is knocking at the gates. Galene and her friends are the only ones who can tip the scales toward justice, but their choices could save Olympus from total annihilation, or be the doom of them all.

I love stories featuring mythology, so I was excited to learn there was a new novel featuring the daughter of Poseidon. She is banished from Mount Olympus and must go on a quest to save them all. The story sounds like it will be a thrilling adventure and I cannot wait to get started on this novel! My blog tour post will appear for this novel on Thursday with my full review. I know it is not a lot of time between me starting the novel today and me writing a review for Thursday, but I like to cut it close to ensure that the thoughts are my initial feelings when I write the review. Unfortunately, time got away from me previously so I could not attempt to read and post-date a review, but maybe I can be better at my organization to do this in the future.
