~ #BookBloggerHop: Where do you post your reviews? ~

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Billy @ Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to their own blog.

Topic Run Dates: July 9th – 15th, 2021

Where do you post your reviews? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

Before I started sharing my thoughts online, my main place to “post” a review was in a text message to my friends. There are a few people in my friend group that love reading as much as me, so we shared random thoughts about the books we were reading in text. Now, the main place that I post my reviews is here on my blog. I still send texts about my thoughts on books to my friend group and they send some to me, but my full reviews go on my blog whenever I can.

Typically, I try to copy all of my reviews to Goodreads and I sometimes add them to Amazon, if I can remember.

Now, if they are an ARC, then I will add my review to the site (Netgalley, Edelweiss, etc.)

Technically, I have both a Twitter and Instagram account that eventually will be added in to my rotation. However, right now both are sitting idle as I do not have the time update multiple platforms and I want to continue putting the blog first for consistency.

How about you? Where do you post your reviews?

  1. I’m loving these Book Blogger Hop posts you’re participating in. I’ve liked the prompts so far and every time I read one of your posts, it makes me want to participate in it too.

You’re lucky to have friends to message about books to. My bff is forced to read DMs from me about book moments I found especially meaningful but I try not to bombard her with too many since she doesn’t like to read as much. Like you, I mostly just post on my blog but have been trying to make an effort to provide shortened reviews on Goodreads (those that still maintain the essence of the review but are just not as descriptive). Do you also provide abridged versions on other sites or do you provide the full length review from your site on those other sites?
