~ Goodreads Monday: The Last Graduate (The Scholomance #2) ~

This is a weekly meme where any one can choose a random book from their Goodreads TBR and highlight it. Once you choose a book and create your post, make sure you link and reference the creator, @Lauren’s Page Turners. Eventually, I will try to find a rhyme or reason to my choices, but for now, each week will feature a random one that I mean to read soon!

This Week’s Selection:

The Last Graduate (The Scholomance #2) by Naomi Novik

Expected publication: September 28th 2021, 368 pages

A budding dark sorceress determined not to use her formidable powers uncovers yet more secrets about the workings of her world in the stunning sequel to A Deadly Education, the start of Naomi Novik’s groundbreaking crossover series.

At the Scholomance, El, Orion, and the other students are faced with their final year—and the looming specter of graduation, a deadly ritual that leaves few students alive in its wake. El is determined that her chosen group will survive, but it is a prospect that is looking harder by the day as the savagery of the school ramps up. Until El realizes that sometimes winning the game means throwing out all the rules . . .

The first novel, A Deadly Education, was on my radar last year, but, unfortunately time got away from me and I did not get around it. When I saw the sequel, I requested an ARC before even reading the first. Since I have multiple ARCs that came between then and now, it was briefly placed on the back-burner. Randomly, I decided to pick-up the first novel and actually featured it in one of my First Lines Friday posts. This week or next my place it to read both back to back so I can experience the duology as a whole and hope it lives up to my semi-high expectations.

    1. I’m most of the way through this novel and, so far, the series is pretty great. I am not sure if I would go out of my way to read them, but I do like them a lot. I hope you enjoy them if/when you decide to read them!
