For this week, I managed to read and review nine novels.
I have multiple ARCs that will be published at the end of September and the beginning of October, so I am trying to make those my priority over the back-log titles. Since I read when I can without pushing myself, I hope to finish them all before each of them are released, but I do not know if it will happen. I have the ARCs for When Night Breaks (Kingdom of Cards #2) and Crown of Cinders (Wings of Fury #2) that both release in early October. Since I have not read the first for either, I also have a goal to read the first novel and the ARCs, but we shall see how that goes over these next few weeks.
The ARCs that I finished were Infamous, which is the third novel in the Rebels of the Ton series. While I found all three entertaining, this novel stands out in the series as it features two main couples that were enjoyable. She Who Rides the Storm was an okay read as I read it as a standalone so it felt slow. Now that I know that it is a duology, then I think I will give the second novel a chance and reread the first. Sisters of Shadow is another first novel in a series that felt a little slow. While there is some potential for the rest of the series to be great, I am not sure if I will continue this series. Not Your Average Hot Guy may not have been my favorite novel, but I found it to be an entertaining easy read, so the series would be worth continuing. A Dance with Magic was an excellent sequel. Since it is a novella, I wish that it was longer, but I look forward to reading the next novella, The Wayward Tower.
I completed three audiobooks last week with two of them being standalones and the other can act as a companion novel to a series, although it is a standalone. The two standalones were The Siren, which was a very sweet story, and the other was An Enchantment of Ravens, which was a decent read and, at least, sparked my interest to read more from the author. The “companion” novel was The Last Legacy as it is set in the same world as the Fable duology and has some cross-over characters from Namesake.
For my book blog tours, I read one additional novel, Taylor Partially Matured. This is part of the Sweet Water Circle series and has been enjoyable, so far.
For next week, I have two blog tours, Autumn Dreams at Mermaid Point and Fool Me Twice at Christmas. Aside from those two novels, I am not sure what else I want to attempt as I have multiple ARCs and audiobooks to choose from on my short list. I will have to see what I end up reading as I do not have a plan yet.
