~ Goodreads Monday: Within These Wicked Walls ~

This is a weekly meme where any one can choose a random book from their Goodreads TBR and highlight it. Once you choose a book and create your post, make sure you link and reference the creator, @Lauren’s Page Turners. Eventually, I will try to find a rhyme or reason to my choices, but for now, each week will feature a random one that I mean to read soon!

This Week’s Selection:

Within These Wicked Walls by Lauren Blackwood

Expected publication: October 19th 2021

What the heart desires, the house destroys…

Andromeda is a debtera—an exorcist hired to cleanse households of the Evil Eye. When a handsome young heir named Magnus Rochester reaches out to hire her, Andromeda quickly realizes this is a job like no other, with horrifying manifestations at every turn, and that Magnus is hiding far more than she has been trained for. Death is the most likely outcome if she stays, but leaving Magnus to live out his curse alone isn’t an option. Evil may roam the castle’s halls, but so does a burning desire.

Kiersten White meets Tomi Adeyemi in this Ethiopian-inspired debut fantasy retelling of Jane Eyre.

I actually won this novel in a giveaway after trying to decide on some new fall reads. It has been a long time since I’ve read (or watched) Jane Eyre, so I am not quite familiar with it off the top of my head. Since this is a retelling of the tale with a more “haunted” vibe, I am excited to see the author’s take on the source material and how the novel turns out generally as this is the author’s debut.
