For this week, I managed to read and review six novels.
As this month is NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), I am attempting to put my millions of novel ideas on paper (well…on my computer). Due to this side project, I have not been able to dedicate my usual amount of time to reading novels, even audiobooks. There is no way that I will reach the 50,000-word goal for the month, but I hope to at least get a decent start on any of my ideas that could eventually become a novel. I am not sure if the goal would be to attempt publication or just to do it for fun, but I think I will just work on trying to complete the project before I think about any future steps.
I still have a few FairyLoot boxes to catch on this month. Eventually, these posts will be once a month as I receive each new box. While I have not opened any of the novels yet to read (mostly because they are too pretty haha), I have enjoyed all the random trinkets that come in each box.
This week I finished the Caraval trilogy and finished Once Upon a Broken Heart, the first novel in a companion trilogy. As OUABH ended in a cliffhanger, I am anxiously awaiting the sequel to be released next year.
I completed the ARC, The Bone Shard Emperor, and the first installment, The Bone Shard Daughter, and have to wait for the final novel, The Bone Shard War, to be published next year. As I have an ARC for the sequel in the Lady’s Guide series, I completed A Lady’s Guide of Mischief and Mayhem. This series is very enjoyable, so far, as it is a nice mix of mystery and romance. My final novel was the audiobook for She Who Became the Sun, which was an excellent historical retelling and I, again, have to wait for the sequel to be published.
I am not sure what I will read next week aside from An Heiress’s Guide to Deception and Desire, the second novel in the A Lady’s Guide series. I have a few options that I may try for audiobooks including the A League of Extraordinary Women novels or the Serpent and Dove series. Both series have been on my TBR for a long time, so I am not sure if I will try either or something else entirely. I shall have to wait and see what happens and which novel ends up fitting my mood.
