Only one more (October) to go before I am caught up and my November box arrives. Once that happens, then I will make these posts monthly, although I have not selected a day yet. My September box is the fifth one that I received.
FROM FAIRYLOOT:
We are so excited to reveal the September theme for our monthly box and it is… UPRISING!
Whether you’re a hero risking everything to destroy an evil force, a warrior partaking in a battle of epic proportions or a guardian rising up against someone that is trying to harm your loved ones, fighting back for what you believe in and to save the ones you love is one of the tropes that we enjoy the most in a fantasy book.
In this box you can expect items inspired by Six Crimson Cranes, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, An Ember in the Ashes and The Prison Healer. We are thrilled to reveal that this box will once again have TWO books! The second book is a paperback with an EXCLUSIVE COVER and a DIGITAL SIGNATURE. We won’t be revealing the title of this book but we will give you this hint: it is a new September release, where two teenagers strike a deadly alliance to hunt down the ancient creature menacing their home!
Our featured book of the month follows a girl who will risk everything to bring down the system in a kingdom divided by corruption. The FairyLoot exclusive edition will have be an EXCLUSIVE HARDCOVER with SPRAYED EDGES, ARTWORK ON THE REVERSE OF THE DUST JACKET by @lizzart_zardonicz, FOIL EMBOSSING ON THE CASE, CUSTOM ENDPAPERS, RIBBON BOOKMARK and will be SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR.
Spots for new subscriptions are currently CLOSED, but you can sign up to the waiting list here. The best way to get a subscription at the moment is to sign up to the waiting list – we invite people whenever more spots become available.

Book of the Month: Defy the Night (#1) by Brigid Kemmerer

The kingdom of Kandala is on the brink of disaster. Rifts between sectors have only worsened since a sickness began ravaging the land, and within the Royal Palace, the king holds a tenuous peace with a ruthless hand.
King Harristan was thrust into power after his parents’ shocking assassination, leaving the younger Prince Corrick to take on the brutal role of the King’s Justice. The brothers have learned to react mercilessly to any sign of rebellion–it’s the only way to maintain order when the sickness can strike anywhere, and the only known cure, an elixir made from delicate Moonflower petals, is severely limited.
Out in the Wilds, apothecary apprentice Tessa Cade is tired of seeing her neighbors die, their suffering ignored by the unyielding royals. Every night, she and her best friend Wes risk their lives to steal Moonflower petals and distribute the elixir to those who need it most–but it’s still not enough.
As rumors spread that the cure no longer works and sparks of rebellion begin to flare, a particularly cruel act from the King’s Justice makes Tessa desperate enough to try the impossible: sneaking into the palace. But what she finds upon her arrival makes her wonder if it’s even possible to fix Kandala without destroying it first.
This FairyLoot exclusive edition has an exclusive cover (below-left), stencil and sprayed edges (below-center), artwork on the reverse of the dust jacket (above) by @lizzart_zardonicz, and is signed by the author.
I actually still need to read this novel as it has been on my TBR for a long time.
The only two novels/series that I have completed are Caraval and Six Crimson Cranes, but the others are all on my TBR. I have used the cardholder, so far, and need to find places for some of the others (like the tapestry).
For those that do not know as much about Fairy Loot, it is a monthly fantasy book subscription box.

As I am far behind in my unboxings, below is the theme for the next one set to arrive (November), rather than the next Unboxing month (October). Once I catch-up on these unboxings, then the months will start to line up.

FROM FAIRYLOOT:
We are so excited to reveal the November theme for our monthly box and it is… VENGEANCE IS YOURS!
An eye for an eye will leave the whole world blind . . . but sometimes the best revenge is getting even. This theme is all about the sweetness of revenge and characters who will get it by blade, or by wit.
In this box you can expect items inspired by Vicious, From Blood and Ash, The Poppy War, Rage of Dragons and our featured book of the month. We are thrilled to reveal that this box will include a TRAVEL MUG!
Our featured book of the month is inspired by Chinese mythology, and two people who discover their intertwined destinies. It is filled with revenge, rich magic and an epic slow-burn romance! This FairyLoot exclusive edition will have an EXCLUSIVE COVER, STENCIL SPRAYED EDGES, ARTWORK ON THE REVERSE OF THE DUST JACKET by @jhocaaa, FOIL ON THE HARDCOVER by @jhocaaa and will be SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR.
Spots for new subscriptions are currently CLOSED, but you can sign up to the waiting list here. The best way to get a subscription at the moment is to sign up to the waiting list – we invite people whenever more spots become available.
