~ Goodreads Award Nominations – Fantasy – Raking My Past Reads

I actually saw this post originally done by Andie at Books, Coffee & Passion who took the 20 nominated novels in the Romance category and ranked the ones that were read. After posting my rankings for the Romance category, I decided to do the Fantasy category.

From the 20 novels in the opening round, I read 10 of them and still have the other 10 on my TBR. Since I did not read all of them, my ranking will only include the completed novels. My ranking is based on my rating at the time of the review. If two or more novels have the same rating, then I will choose my favorite based on my memory of the reading experience.

This brings us to my top three novels – Ariadne, The Jasmine Throne, and Under the Whispering Door.

Similar to the romance category, I decided to rank and vote for a favorite even though I may get around to reading the remaining novels between now and the end of voting for this round on November 28th. While I greatly enjoyed all three novels, there was a clear winner based on rating alone, which was Under the Whispering Door!

~ MY #1 FANTASY ~

This list is based on the ratings I gave when I initially wrote each review. Since I am indecisive, I am sure that some of these novels will change places in the ranking if I thought about each detail more, however, I am trying to not overthink it. I would easily read all ten of these novels again and I cannot wait to eventually try the remaining ten nominees!

Which novel did you vote for (if you did) or did you enjoy the most?

  1. Yeeeees! I love your #1! I didn’t do the ranking for the fantasy genre because I only read 2 or 3, even though most of them are on my TBR list. Under the Whispering Door has my whole heart, though. I’ll definitely be reading some of these in 2022. It’s curious that I want to read almost every single one of those you read, except for Malice. It wasn’t on my radar but maybe it should be! 🙂
