~ Book Tag: The Joy of Christmas ~

I actually came across this book tag on Morgan’s blog (Morgan is Reading Again) and since it looked interesting, I decided to put my own answers together. If you want to check out the originator for this tag, check out Sam’s blog (Sam’s Nonsense).

Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?

I think the one that I am anticipating the most before the end of the year is It Happened One Midnight. Not only does it come out later this month on the 28th, but it is a cute adult fairy tale story set in super magical Ever After (in Missouri).

Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing its/their praises?

Two authors come to mind when it comes to singing their praises. The first is Tricia Levenseller.

While I absolutely am eager to read the sequels to Blade of Secrets, which will be a continuation of book one, and, eventually, The Shadows Between Us, which will be a companion novel set in the same universe. The book that stands out to me is Daughter of the Pirate King because it was my first one by the author.

The other author is Rebecca Garcia. I am loving her Embracing Darkness collection with its latest release, Heart of a Witch. Similar to Tricia, the book that stands out to me is my first one, The Fate of Crowns.

Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world-building?

There are tons of books and series that come to mind for this question, but the one that I thought of first was the Raybearer series.

A Christmas Carol: Favourite classic or one that you want to read

While any of Jane Austen’s novels are a delight to read, the one that constantly comes to mind first is Emma. I am on the fence about my feelings on the 2020 movie adaption, but I love the BBC series.

Another classic series that is my favorite is The Lord of the Rings. It is one that I can read again and again without getting bored.

Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas?

Since I just received a FairyLoot box from their past boxes sale that included an exclusive edition of Fable, I would love to receive the exclusive edition of Namesake. Not only did I enjoy the series, so it will be worth a re-read, but I would love to have the matching set for my book collection.

Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling?

Christmas/holiday-type novels always give me warm fuzzy feelings. Since I am already featuring many of them in my Reading Challenge, I decided to instead select some novels that were not under this category.

Similar to other questions in this tag, there are multiple other novels that were warm and fuzzy. Since I could not feature all of them, I decided to go with Cemetery Boys and The Charm Offensive.

Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favourite book covers?

There are millions more that I could choose, but these are the first six that randomly choose where I loved the covers.

Christmas Joy: What are some of your favourite things about Christmas?

Work-wise, I love that it is a holiday/day off that gives me extra time at home with my family. Other things that I love are the weather, family, and holiday food/music that I do not always get year-round. There are many other things, as well, but these are the ones that came to mind first.

I invite anyone who would like to answer these with their own responses to consider themselves tagged.
