~ Goodreads Monday: Kingdom of the Wicked (#1) ~

This is a weekly meme where any one can choose a random book from their Goodreads TBR and highlight it. Once you choose a book and create your post, make sure you link and reference the new host, @Budget Tales Book Blog. Eventually, I will try to find a rhyme or reason to my choices, but for now, each week will feature a random one that I mean to read soon!

This Week’s Selection:

Kingdom of the Wicked (Kingdom of the Wicked #1) by Kerri Maniscalco

Published October 27th 2020

Two sisters.

One brutal murder.

A quest for vengeance that will unleash Hell itself…

And an intoxicating romance.

Emilia and her twin sister Vittoria are streghe – witches who live secretly among humans, avoiding notice and persecution. One night, Vittoria misses dinner service at the family’s renowned Sicilian restaurant. Emilia soon finds the body of her beloved twin…desecrated beyond belief. Devastated, Emilia sets out to find her sister’s killer and to seek vengeance at any cost-even if it means using dark magic that’s been long forbidden.

Then Emilia meets Wrath, one of the Wicked-princes of Hell she has been warned against in tales since she was a child. Wrath claims to be on Emilia’s side, tasked by his master with solving the series of women’s murders on the island. But when it comes to the Wicked, nothing is as it seems…

The second novel in the series, Kingdom of the Cursed, was published earlier this year in October and the final novel, Kingdom of the Feared, will be published in 2022. Since this is a series that I have wanted to read since the first installment came out, I hope to read it either before the end of the year or in January. As I want to read them all in order, I hope to read this first installment and the sequel to see if the final novel is worth adding to my TBR or not. This author also has multiple other novels on my TBR, so I hope to give her a try and see if I enjoy her style.
