This week I was a little distracted from the Throne of Glass series as I started The Lunar Chronicles series and The Daughters of Eville series. Cinder was a surprise in a good way as I found the novel to live up to the hype of the series and I cannot wait to begin the second novel. As for Of Beast and Beauty, I can see the potential for the series to be amazing even though the first novel was just okay, for me.
I also started and finished the Sea Witch duology. I know some readers found the second one to be better, but I was the opposite where I enjoyed the first one a lot more. They were both worth trying out once, but I do not foresee myself re-reading either in the future. The standalone novel, One Night on the Island seemed to be generally loved based on ratings, but it just was not for me as I do not connect with the situation of one of the main characters.
As for ARCs, I loved Elektra as the author did a great job of weaving the stories of three main characters into one seamless novel. The Homewreckers was very heartwarming and an excellent beach read. As for my final ARC, A Veil of Gods and Kings, this was a very interesting take on Apollo’s story and I cannot wait to read the next novel in the series.
For next week, I have my three series to continue, Throne of Glass, The Lunar Chronicles, and The Daughters of Eville plus Twisted Tales. I am not sure which ones I will actually end up reading, but it will be at least one from one of the series. I also have some ARCs, such as Tear Down the Throne and All Fired Up that I hope to start/finish soon.
Happy Reading! Thank you for reading my wrap-up!
