This is a weekly meme where any one can choose a random book from their Goodreads TBR and highlight it. Once you choose a book and create your post, make sure you link and reference the new host, @Budget Tales Book Blog. Eventually, I will try to find a rhyme or reason to my choices, but for now, each week will feature a random one that I mean to read soon!
This Week’s Selection:
The Oleander Sword (Burning Kingdoms #2) by Tasha Suri

The prophecy of the nameless god—the words that declared Malini the rightful empress of Parijatdvipa—has proven a blessing and curse. She is determined to claim the throne that fate offered her. But even with the strength of the rage in her heart and the army of loyal men by her side, deposing her brother is going to be a brutal and bloody fight.
The power of the deathless waters flows through Priya’s blood. Thrice born priestess, Elder of Ahiranya, Priya’s dream is to see her country rid of the rot that plagues it: both Parijatdvipa’s poisonous rule, and the blooming sickness that is slowly spreading through all living things. But she doesn’t yet understand the truth of the magic she carries.
Their chosen paths once pulled them apart. But Malini and Priya’s souls remain as entwined as their destinies. And they soon realize that coming together is the only way to save their kingdom from those who would rather see it burn—even if it will cost them.

The Oleander Sword is the continuation of the story in the first novel, The Jasmine Throne. I loved reading the first novel last year and I am very excited to read the second novel in the trilogy. I am nervous that this novel will suffer from “second-book syndrome,” but I am holding out hope that it will be an amazing read. Since the third novel will not be published until 2023, it will be a tough wait to see how it all concludes.

Fingers crossed that you will be lucky with this second book. The cover looks great!
Have a great week!
