September – [TBR]

For July, the theme was “BEACH READS.” My two novels for the month were Out of the Blue for the second prompt (Read a book with water on the cover) and Skin of the Sea (#1) for the first prompt (read a book with a water creature). Since both novels have water on the cover and feature mermaids, I randomly matched them to the prompts.

For August, the theme was “BACK TO SCHOOL.” My first novel was The Ten Thousand Doors of January for the prompt, buddy read a novel. My second was Troy (Stephen Fry’s Great Mythology #3) for the prompt, read a nonfiction.

The theme for September was “FALL.” For the first prompt (Read a book with leaves on the cover), I completed Island Affair (Keys to Love #1). For the second one (Read a book with red, orange, or yellow on the cover), I completed a novel that had all three colors, Wait for It.

September Novel Picks: Black Sun (Between Earth and Sky #1) & Once and Future Witches

Published October 13, 2020
Published October 13, 2020

The theme for October is “HALLOWEEN.” As I did not go for novels directly related to the modern-day holiday, I first went with novels that were published in October. Then, I used the narrowed-down list to fit the prompts. For the first one (Read a paranormal book), I selected The Once and Future Witches. As for the second one (Read a book with the word Black in the title, series name, or author’s name), I decided to complete Black Sun (House of Earth and Sky #1).

I cannot believe we are in the final quarter of the year! There are only three months to go with six novels total. Each of these novels continue to be from my endlessly long TBR list, so I enjoy that these prompts help me narrow down some options of ones to try next. I am excited to try out the two novels for this month and look forward to selecting and completing my remaining four for the year!

HAPPY READING!
