This is a weekly meme where any one can choose a random book from their Goodreads TBR and highlight it. Once you choose a book and create your post, make sure you link and reference the new host, @Budget Tales Book Blog. Eventually, I will try to find a rhyme or reason to my choices, but for now, each week will feature a random one that I mean to read soon!
This Week’s Selection:
Kiss Her Once For Me by Alison Cochrun

One year ago, recent Portland transplant Ellie Oliver had her dream job in animation and a Christmas Eve meet-cute with a woman at a bookstore that led her to fall in love over the course of a single night. But after a betrayal the next morning and the loss of her job soon after, she finds herself adrift, alone, and desperate for money.
Finding work at a local coffee shop, she’s just getting through the days—until Andrew, the shop’s landlord, proposes a shocking, drunken plan: a marriage of convenience that will give him his recent inheritance and alleviate Ellie’s financial woes and isolation. They make a plan to spend the holidays together at his family cabin to keep up the ruse. But when Andrew introduces his new fiancée to his sister, Ellie is shocked to discover it’s Jack—the mysterious woman she fell for over the course of one magical Christmas Eve the year before. Now, Ellie must choose between the safety of a fake relationship and the risk of something real.

I loved Cochrun’s debut novel, The Charm Offensive, so I was very excited to learn that she had a new novel coming out! I loved her writing style and how it mixed romance with the right amount of complexity, so I greatly hope that it carries through in this novel. Marriages of convenience are typically a trope I enjoy, so the basic building blocks seem to be there for this to be a hit for me and now I cannot wait to try it and see how it turns out!

I’m hyped for this one too!

Sounds like an interesting book. I haven’t read many marriage for convenience books. I love the cover and the Christmas element!
Have a great week!
