The Fallen series has surprised me as it has gotten a tiny bit better with every novel and I am determined to finish it! For me, it is not terrible enough to abandon yet it would not be one I would ever re-read again, but I do hold out hope that the ending will make it all worth it in some way. Another series that I am working on is The Gilded Wolves, where the first novel was pretty good and I am currently working on the second. There are three more series that I have also started, which are Between Earth and Sky, Anna Dressed in Blood, and The Four Kingdoms. Sometimes there are points where I want to stick to standalones as I tend to bounce from novel to novel without any rhyme or reason, but I just keep ending up picking up whatever appeals to me in the moment, including my ARCs and just go with the flow with my reading.
As October comes towards an end, I am fitting in some “spooky” books, which is how I arrived at the Anna duology and the Fallen series. I may end up trying some additional ones, but I am not sure yet as I will have to see what I am in the mood for. As for actual Halloween, I am excited that I am prepared with candy to give out plus I have at least spider webs and some spooky haunted house vibes going on with my decorations. It is definitely a lot less than we usually do at my house, but I think it may be as good as it gets this year.
