While I signed up for Goodreads in 2020, I did not participate or even know about the Goodreads Choice Awards until 2021. I do read novels from all the categories, but I have three that I tend to read the most (fantasy, YA fantasy, and romance), however, I do not always get to the most popular ones. Every one of these novels are on my TBR, but I only have gotten to a few, so far. I did this ranking post last year, so I decided to try it out again this year.
YOUNG ADULT FANTASY – Opening Round Nominees
Of the 20 novels in the opening round, I have only read four of them, which is a little disappointing as I really want to read all of them and this is one of my most-read genres. Since I did not read all of them, my ranking will only include the completed novels. My ranking is based on my rating at the time of the review. If two or more novels have the same rating, then I will choose my favorite based on my memory of the reading experience.
**You can click on each cover to access my full reviews of each novel.**
The Opening Round for these awards goes until November 27th and the final voting round will run from November 29th to December 4th with the final winners announced on December 8th.
Similar to last year, I voted for my favorite based on rating alone. As I have only read four of the novels and may read more by the time it is the final voting round, my choice may change, however, at the moment, I have a clear winner!
All of these novels sound amazing and most of them are very anticipated reads on my TBR, so I hope to read them all soon. My top choice this year is not a huge surprise for me as I voted for the first novel, Once Upon a Broken Heart, last year and most likely will vote for the final novel if Garber’s work keeps being amazing.
Which novel did you vote for (if you did) or did you enjoy the most?
