~ Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Heroines ~

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

How it works: Each Tuesday will be assigned a topic and then you post your top ten list that fits it. Feel free to add your own spin on the topic to make it work for you! For me, I’m not sure the type of spin I want to put on it, so for now I’ll post fairly straight-forward responses.

I put this month’s topics at the bottom of the post, but you can find the whole list on the host blog. If you don’t have a blog, you’re welcome to participate using other social media or even by putting your list in the comments.

This Week’s Topic: Favorite Heroines

 Published August 2, 2012

Celaena She starts off as a mysterious character right at the beginning, but I loved getting to know her and her journey.

Published April 10, 2018

Circe – She has amazing growth throughout the story. Even with multiple other characters sharing the page, she shined on her own.

Published August 18, 2020

Tarisai She may have a lot of other characters around her, but she always managed to stay in the spotlight. I loved reading about this character.

Published September 28, 2021

Evagenline – Her story was extremely compelling. There is something I can’t pinpoint about her character where I was immediately sucked into wanting to know what happened to her.

Published January 5, 2021

Winter This series started off slower, but Winter made me want to read more. This turned into an amazing series and Winter was one of the key reasons.

Published January 3, 2012

Cinder She was such an easy character to like where I wanted to read her story. There were some aspects of the series that did not work for me, but Cinder kept me wanting to read more.

Published April 24, 2012

America – The story itself is interesting, but America adds a level of likability to the story where she keeps the reader interested.

Published January 28, 1813

Lizzy – She was an obvious choice as she is charming and likable plus she adds a great intrigue to this historical story.

Published July 6, 2021

Gemma She has great wit and humor that she adds to her adventures. There are a lot of dangers around her plus a forbidden romance which all contribute to her being a compelling character.

Published October 1, 1988

Matilda – She is an amazing character that is easy to root for and want to do well in the story.

FEBRUARY TOPICS:

  • February 7: 2023 Debut Books I’m Excited About
    February 14: Love/Valentine’s Day Freebie
    February 21: Favorite Heroines
February 28: Genre Freebie (Pick a genre and build a list around it. It could a list of favorites, a to-read list, recommendations for people interested in reading books in that genre, “if you like this, try this”, etc.)

Happy third Tuesday in February!

There are so many novels out there that feature some amazing heroines! I had a very difficult time narrowing it down to just ten novels, so I just picked the ten that came to my mind first.

How about you? How did you interpret this week’s topic?
