~ Book Tag:The Quarter Year Crisis ~

I saw similar tags in previous years and again recently on Athena’s blog. The original tag was created by Roisin’s Reading on BookTube.

How many books have you read so far?

I think I am at 70 books so far this year with a range of audiobooks and printed editions.

Have you already found a book you think might be a 2023 favourite?

I think it is way too early in the year to predict what will be my favorite by the end; however, my top rated novel, so far, is Divine Rivals (Letters of Enchantment #1). [My Review]

Any 1-star books / least favourite book of the year?

So far, I have one novel that I rated one star. I am not sure if The Perfect Date will be my least favorite of the year yet, but it is my least, so far. [My Review]

Most read genre so far?

I am pretty sure my most read almost every year is Romance! While it may not be the dominant genre in every story that I read, it is either a subgenre or one of the main ones.

A book that surprised you?

Lessons in Chemistry was a surprise to me as it was a hyped novel that just did not click with me. The novel had a ton of great ideas, but never quite got there with the execution, which is why this novel surprised me the most, so far. [My Review]

A book that’s come out in 2023 already that you want to read but haven’t yet?

Secretly Yours (A Vine Mess #1) was published in February and is one of the many novels from 2023 that I have been meaning to read.

One goal you made that you’re succeeding at?

I have a lot of goals in 2023, but I have been doing a decent job at reading my backlist novels. This is my second year participating in the TBR Knockout Challenge, which has two backlist novels per month. So far, I have completed all the prompts for the first quarter and hope to finish the rest for the year.

One goal you made that you need to focus on?

I have a lot of goals, but one that I keep meaning to work on is actually updating my blog. I have ideas in my head to make it more organized, changes the images a little, etc., but I just have not had the time to do it.

New to you Bloggers/Booktubers/ Bookstagrammers/Booktokers for 2023 you recommend?

So far in 2023, I have been bad at discovering new reviewers. I have some that I come across, but I’ve been lacking on my community engagement to follow their work.

This tag was a great check-in for the year. I have tons of novels and goals for 2023 so I am proud of my progress and realize I still have a great while to go. I can’t believe we are already through the first quarter and are almost through April, which is the first month of the second. Happy Reading!
