Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
How it works: Each Tuesday will be assigned a topic and then you post your top ten list that fits it. Feel free to add your own spin on the topic to make it work for you! For me, I’m not sure the type of spin I want to put on it, so for now I’ll post fairly straight-forward responses.
I put this month’s topics at the bottom of the post, but you can find the whole list on the host blog. If you don’t have a blog, you’re welcome to participate using other social media or even by putting your list in the comments.
This Week’s Topic: The First 10 Books I Randomly Grabbed from My Shelf (close your eyes and touch/grab/point to 10 random titles and tell us what they are! And tell us what you thought if you’ve read them!)
MAY TOPICS:
- May 2:
The First 10 Books I Randomly Grabbed from My Shelf (close your eyes and touch/grab/point to 10 random titles and tell us what they are! And tell us what you thought if you’ve read them!)
May 9: Books I Recommend to Others the Most
May 16: Things Getting in the Way of Reading (what’s taking up your time right now?) (lovingly stolen from A Cocoon of Books during freebie week)
May 23: Things That Make Me Instantly Want to Read a Book (these can be auto-buy authors, tropes you love, if an author you love blurbed it, settings, genres, etc.)
May 30: Things That Make Me Instantly NOT Want to Read a Book (what are your immediate turn-offs or dealbreakers when it comes to books?)
Happy first Tuesday in May!
This week was an interesting one as it is the first time I’ve come across this topic for any weekly post! Instead of my physical shelf, I went to my kindle virtual shelf where I used a random number generator ten times to select the ten novels. I debated whether to follow the topic exactly and say what I thought about each in the post, but decided to just to do links to the full reviews. I tried to think of ways to describe my thoughts in a sentence or so for each novel aside from saying I liked it, thought it was okay, or gave it a pass, but ultimately, my mind stopped working to think harder than that and I ended up just doing links. I have thoughts on next week’s topic so hopefully my brain starts working so I can somewhat describe why I would recommend ten novels to others.
How about you? How did you interpret this week’s topic?

I still need to read In Deeper Waters. I recently read Spell Bound by the author, and it was fantastic!!!
