~ The Fantasy Winter Retreat Book Tag ~

I am excited to give this book tag a try as it allows me to think about travel again and where I would want to go to next on a nice vacation! I was tagged by Isha @Paperbacktomes for this fun Fantasy Winter Retreat Tag. Thank you very much for thinking of me for this tag!

This tag was created by Sumedha @ Wordy Habitat.

The Fantasy Winter Retreat Book Tag summary

You get to go on a week-long retreat to chill and have fun after the stressful 2020 experience. Set the scene of your dream winter retreat and, using the prompts, round up the characters you’d like to vacation with!

Step One: Travel destination and accommodation

As this is the winter retreat, I am thinking that I would go to Strasbourg, France staying in an apartment or something similar that overlooks their main square and the giant Christmas tree they usually have during the Christmas market season.

Step Two: Who’s Joining!?

A fun character who’s presence would cheer up any situation

Luke from The Little Swiss Ski Chalet. He sees the best in every situation. Due to his past, he is a firm believer in seizing the day and would bring brightness to any event that might come up.

A character who would parent everyone

Cara from the Beach House series by Mary Alice Monroe. She became a mom in Beach House Reunion, but was a very maternal and nurturing character in both novels that I read. She would still have fun with everyone, but would be the more mature one to make sure things don’t become too insane haha.

A character who would plan games and other activities

Baker from the Paradise series by Elin Hilderbrand. She works on a tourist boat in St. John and is great at coming up with answers to tourist questions on the spot. She’s organized when it comes to the trips and is a super fun character, so I would expect that she could come up with something fun for us to do.

A character who would rather cozy up in blankets and sleep/laze around all day

Lana from Mistletoe and Mr. Right. She is a not a lazy character in any way, but I think she wouldn’t mind a chance to sit and relax while enjoying time away from all of her responsibilities.

A character who had to cancel other plans to be here

Samira from The Boy Toy. She has her speech therapy practice and lots of commitments with her family plus a social life. Although she would be the type to make time for a vacation, she would just have to make an effort to attend (move patient appointments around, etc.).

A character who brought their work along with them

Henley from Shipped. She is a very hard worker that always wants to do her best and move forward in her career. Although she would relax and have fun, as someone who works in travel tourism, she would be thinking about how to market the place we are saying and how to make it the best possible experience for everyone.

A character who would not leave their partner’s side

Petunia (“Petty”), Jonquil, and Bluebonnet from Fairy Godmother’s Inc. I feel that if I invited one, then I would need to invite all three. Luckily, they are a delight and would bring a lot of fun, and magic, to the retreat!

A character who is amused by everyone’s antics

Cupid or “Q” from First Quiver. He is there for a good time and as an immortal God he loves antics and would be great to have around. He loves having fun and would greatly encourage it!

I tag:

There are a million characters that came to mind for each category. I chose the first one that popped into my head and also ones that I do not always feature in my other posts, although I have featured some of them, or at least their novels, before. This book tag was very fun to do and if all of these characters and I got together in reality, it would be an incredibly fun time as we are all different, but all want the best experience for all. For those I tagged, feel free to do this if you want and also have the time. For those I did not tag, feel free to also complete the prompts as I would love to read your answers!

                    1. Sometimes I meet people who are avid readers in the bookstore. Always so great to be able to geek out over books at work. But for the most part it is people picking up non fiction or they don’t need any help looking for books. Fingers crossed for more bookish friends in real life once this pandemic is over .

                    2. Yes! When this is over I want to join a book club and maybe try and go to a big bookish event. I’d love to meet some local readers to nerd out with. My sister was actually in a book club once and she didnt even read! She just drank wine. Lmao like I’d love to be in a book club
