~ Book Tag: The Joy of Christmas ~

I actually did this tag last year and decided to try it again this way. If you want to check out the originator for this tag, check out Sam’s blog (Sam’s Nonsense).

Anticipation: The Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?

I have been eagerly anticipating since this novel was announced. I am sad that it was not released in 2022 and was pushed back to 2023. At least it is still planned for an early 2023 release, so I can’t wait to finally read the conclusion to this Kinder Poison trilogy!

Christmas Songs & Carols: What book or author can you not help but sing its/their praises?

Two authors come to mind when it comes to singing their praises. The first is Tricia Levenseller.

While I absolutely loved the sequel to Blade of Secrets, and am eagerly anticipating the sequel to The Shadows Between Us, which will be a companion novel set in the same universe, the book that stands out to me is Daughter of the Pirate King because it was my first one by the author.

The other author is Stephanie Garber. While the Caraval series was good, it was the Once Upon a Broken Heart series that fully won me over.

Gingerbread Houses: What book or series has wonderful world-building?

I loved the world-building in Night of the Raven, Dawn of the Dove. Not only is it unique with its take on historical India, but I love how well the author created the world and characters in a single novel without it feeling rushed.

A Christmas Carol: Favourite classic or one that you want to read

While any of Jane Austen’s novels are a delight to read, the one that constantly comes to mind first is Emma. I am on the fence about my feelings on the 2020 movie adaption, but I love the BBC series.

Another classic series that is my favorite is The Lord of the Rings. It is one that I can read again and again without getting bored.

Christmas Sweets: What book would you love to receive for Christmas?

The Soul Mates in Romeo series is one of my favorite and each novel is amazing! I love how each is unique with a variety of characters and stories. As I missed getting a copy of Scrooging Christmas, it is one that I still need to get to make my collection complete.

Candles in the Window: What book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling?

Christmas/holiday-type novels always give me warm fuzzy feelings. Since I am already featuring many of them in my Reading Challenge, I decided to instead select some novels that were not under this category.

Similar to other questions in this tag, there are multiple other novels that were warm and fuzzy. Since I could not feature all of them, I decided to go with Cemetery Boys and The Charm Offensive.

Christmas Trees & Decorations: What are some of your favourite book covers?

There are millions more that I could choose, but these are the first six that randomly choose where I loved the covers.

Christmas Joy: What are some of your favourite things about Christmas?

Work-wise, I love that it is a holiday/day off that gives me extra time at home with my family. Other things that I love are the weather, family, and holiday food/music that I do not always get year-round. There are many other things, as well, but these are the ones that came to mind first.

I invite anyone who would like to answer these with their own responses to consider themselves tagged.
