Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
How it works: Each Tuesday will be assigned a topic and then you post your top ten list that fits it. Feel free to add your own spin on the topic to make it work for you! For me, I’m not sure the type of spin I want to put on it, so for now I’ll post fairly straight-forward responses.
I put this month’s topics at the bottom of the post, but you can find the whole list on the host blog. If you don’t have a blog, you’re welcome to participate using other social media or even by putting your list in the comments.
This Week’s Topic: Things That Make Me Instantly Want to Read a Book (these can be auto-buy authors, tropes you love, if an author you love blurbed it, settings, genres, etc.)
Intisar Khanani
Marissa Meyer

Tricia Levenseller
Holly Black

Jasmine Guillory
Madeline Miller

Jennifer Estep
Rebecca Garcia

T.J. Klune
Abby Jimenez

MAY TOPICS:
- May 2:
The First 10 Books I Randomly Grabbed from My Shelf (close your eyes and touch/grab/point to 10 random titles and tell us what they are! And tell us what you thought if you’ve read them!)
May 9:Books I Recommend to Others the Most
May 16:Things Getting in the Way of Reading (what’s taking up your time right now?) (lovingly stolen from A Cocoon of Books during freebie week)
May 23:Things That Make Me Instantly Want to Read a Book (these can be auto-buy authors, tropes you love, if an author you love blurbed it, settings, genres, etc.)
May 30: Things That Make Me Instantly NOT Want to Read a Book (what are your immediate turn-offs or dealbreakers when it comes to books?)
Happy second Tuesday in May!
All ten of these authors are ones that I immediately want to try their next novel. Some of their individual novels may not be a perfect five-star read, but I still love the author’s style and will continue to support them. For me, an auto-buy is one that I connect with their writing style and imagination. I look forward to any novel these ten release next.
How about you? How did you interpret this week’s topic?

We have a lot of the same auto buy authors – Miller, Klune, Khanani, and Jimenez, for sure!

Great choices this week. Klune and Miller are autobuy authors for me, too! This week I did tropes for what makes me want to read a book!
